I just received a whole bunch of not-so-fresh oranges and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for what I could bake with them. They're still good, just getting to the end of their freshness and I know I can't eat them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sadly, it appears I am squinting in almost every damn photo, or have my mouth opened awkwardly. This is to e expected.

Well, that didn't last long. I used a slightly non-standard recipe (which was gutsy since I've NEVER baked one before, of any kind. I'll give my notes from doing this one, too, for the next time I make it or you might make it, so you have a little easier time than I did.

I've been going to the gym 4 days a week for months. It's still a struggle to make myself do it, but I'm so proud of myself. Too bad i cant stop stuffing my face. I can feel my body getting stronger, but it is like my willpower goes the other way, which is sad and frustrating.

Maybe today will be better. It is a new day.

Leader Bikes was nice enough to setup me up with one of their 725tr frames and slew of parts for it after my last trip up to SF/Seattle. Our apartment is always a flood of bikes now a days, we really need to get something setup to hang them on the walls.

I head to Phoenix on Friday for a while, and next month is Portland from the 8th to the 12th.

hello all!  first post here ^_^  normally i don't bake at home, only at school, but we had 18 egg yolks from making angel food cake and white cake that i needed to make something with egg yolks

i really wanted to make else but i am a poor college student so luckily i found a recipe that had what i had at home

I've always wanted to make this, and my fiance has mentioned that he hasn't had one in a long time, so for Halloween I decided to make it. I used a recipe from this one book I bought, called The Essential Baking Cookbook. Enjoy.

My friend was in a horrible car accident months ago. She's still in the hospital and is very slowly trying to recover. It's not even guaranteed that she will survive this. Many fundraisers are being held to raise money for her hospital bills. I'm trying to stay involved with them raising as much as I can. The reason I'm posting this here is because in a couple weeks there will be a very large bake sale where all the proceeds will go towards her. I've never been involved in bake sales before so I was wondering what you guys think would be good sellers there. I'd like to keep the recipes as basic as possible but still want them to stand out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I'm not sure if it matters, but I'm fairly certain that over half of the buyers will be of the "elderly" crowd.

Okay so this is a really weird question, but I have a whole bottle of liquid glucose sitting on my desk, rotting away because it was an impulse buy :P Any suggestions from all you pro-bakers as to what to do with it?

I've been trying to bake as much as possible recently, despite not having any time. I've also been trying out new recipes rather than the usual ones I know taste nice. In the last week I've made vegan biscotti and rosemary and orange biscuits. These are two things I wouldn't normally make unless I felt like doing something slightly different. Biscotti is mostly eggs in my mind and rosemary belongs with potatoes. Despite this, they both turned out rather nice. The biscotti isn't anything like biscotti made with eggs but that's too be expected and the rosemary and orange biscuits a somewhat unexpected combination (at least for me!) They're still nice though!

The weekend! Lots of walking around. The gf works so there was dropping her off at the workplace and reading… Finished FlashForward. When we were out, before seeing the Invention of Lying, we dropped by an Indigo and I picked up another book (I’m really looking for a book on photography for my GB course, but also an excuse to buy more books). Anyhoooo, this book is an email exchange between Greg Graffin and Preston Jones, A professor at a Christian University.. a debate of sorts between a naturalist and theist. I pretty much came in my pants when I ran into that book…

The weekend… always lots of walking, seeing stuff… we’re back onto our Brunch quest.. this time out in Queen East. Bonjour Brioche.. We were shooting for lady Marmalade but there was a line-up. I wasn’t into a line-up… Had something called Croque somethingsomething and the gf had the Omlette special… the place was a million degrees because we are having the best fall, some days crisp and cool and other days sunny and bright and amazing. And they hadn't figured out the mathematics of heat exchange in such a situation (bodies, cooking, air con off, heat from the windows in NOVEMBER!! YAY!)

Been wasting away my subway ride playing namco’s brain exercises, and the download for Spore on the BB. You gotta love the concept of a handheld! video game that doubles as a phone, dayplanner, everywhich.thing.but.loose doohickey..

I never update.

Business is the slowest it's been since we opened. It's putting a lot of strain on Chris and I and we almost broke up the other night. We were both drunk, discussing our options and we just disagree on so much. I understand that this business is his baby, not mine, so it's understandable that he'll do whatever it takes to keep it going. My concern though, is that we got so used to this comfortable way of living, that it will be hard for him to go back to what it was like before. I took a job at Target, which still won't cover all of our bills and if the business doesn't start making money again soon, we'll be living in the office or a studio in the ghetto. He's already struggling with the fact that we can't just go grab a beer with someone whenever we want. I've promised to keep it going and not talk about the negative things going on, but that heightens my concerns that he will just keep up the spending until we're totally broke, because he'd rather just ignore the situation. We constantly have the argument where he says I'm too negative (I'm a realist!) and that he is too hopeful (ignoring the facts). So, now we just wait and see if someone actually wants to pay us.
